The microphone is placed at least three feet from any wall and three feet above ground, readings are averaged over three samples at two-minute intervals, and a reading counts only if it is five dB above background. This is the limit a data center's chillers, cooling towers, and generators must satisfy. Construction noise is exempt between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Under Section 6.70.020, a first violation is an infraction and each subsequent violation is a misdemeanor, enforced by Anaheim's Code Enforcement Manager under Section 6.70.030.
