Euless, TX Environmental Rules: Erosion Control (2026)

Euless enforces erosion and sediment control on all sites disturbing soil as part of its MS4 stormwater program. Any project larger than one acre of land disturbance must obtain a TCEQ TPDES Construction General Permit (TXR150000), post a site notice, and maintain a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) on site. Smaller residential projects still must keep dirt out of the street and storm drains under the city nuisance and stormwater ordinances. Typical best management practices (BMPs) required include silt fence along downslope property lines, inlet protection on every street drain within 100 feet of disturbed soil, a stabilized rock construction entrance to prevent tracking, and temporary stabilization (hydromulch or seeding) once an area is idle more than 14 days. Contractors who allow mud to wash onto streets must sweep it promptly or face citations. Building Inspections (817-685-1400) and Public Works coordinate inspections. Post-construction final stabilization (at least 70 percent vegetation) is required before a Notice of Termination can be filed with TCEQ. Failure to install BMPs can stop inspections and delay certificates of occupancy.
