Sedona Land Development Code §5.6.E caps fences in required front setback areas at 4 feet. Side and rear lot-line fences may go up to 6 feet. Front-setback fences in RS-70 and RS-35 may reach 6 feet if at least 50% transparent.
In single-family residential districts, walls and fences in exterior (street) side setback areas — between the front of the primary structure and the rear property line — may go up to 6 feet. Properties in CF (community facility) and IN (industrial) zones may install a 6-foot fence in the front setback area without the transparency requirement. Fence height is measured as the vertical distance from the average finish grade within 6 feet of the base to the top of the fence, excluding fill, berms, mounding, or landscaping.
Code enforcement notice. Noncompliant fences must be modified or replaced.
