Prohibited materials include string, rope, wire products like chicken wire or hog wire, broken glass, plywood, galvanized sheet metal, and other materials not manufactured specifically for fencing. All materials must be approved for exterior use and able to resist weather and decay. Metal posts are required for new wood fences. Barbed wire is restricted to non-residential zoning districts.
