Consumer fireworks are illegal statewide under GS Β§14-410 and in Charlotte. Firecrackers, skyrockets, roman candles, and any device that explodes or leaves the ground are banned year-round. Only sparklers, fountains, snakes, ground spinners, snappers, and smoke devices are permitted.

ALL aerial fireworks, firecrackers, Roman candles, and rockets are illegal for consumer use. Cities cannot authorize fireworks beyond what state law allows. Professional display permits available through the NC Fire Marshal. Violations are strictly enforced, especially around July 4th. Charlotte follows these state restrictions.
