Full Breakdown
Cranston's noise ordinance treats unauthorized fireworks timing as a prohibited special activity. Legal consumer fireworks may be discharged citywide between 12:00 noon and 11:00 p.m., or with special permission from the Safety Services and Licenses Committee, on three windows: July 1st (noon to 11:00 p.m.), July 2nd through 3rd (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.), and July 4th (9:00 a.m. to midnight). Discharge outside these windows falls under the noise code's general prohibition.
Violations & Fines
Discharging fireworks outside the permitted hours/dates violates Cranston Code of Ordinances § 8.20.060(F), the noise control chapter's special-activities prohibition; enforcement runs through the city's ordinance violation process.
