Under Utah's County and Municipal Fireworks Act, state-approved Class C fireworks may be discharged only 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on July 2-5 (until midnight July 4), July 22-25 (until midnight July 24), from 11 a.m. Dec 31 to 1 a.m. Jan 1, and from 11 a.m. Chinese New Year's Eve to 1 a.m. the next day. Municipalities and fire authorities may prohibit fireworks in designated wildland-urban-interface and hazard areas, and post restricted-area maps each year. Aerials and firecrackers are illegal statewide. Always keep water nearby and soak spent fireworks.
Illegal discharge (wrong date/time or a prohibited area) is an infraction punishable by a fine up to $1,000, plus liability for any fire suppression costs.
