Garland County, AR Fire Regulations: Fireworks (2026)

The county's fireworks rule lives inside the burn ban article, Chapter 25, Article II. Sec. 25-33(3) states plainly that it is unlawful for any person to use fireworks during a burn ban without a permit. That rule sits alongside the article's other burn-ban prohibitions: Sec. 25-33(1) bars burning leaves, trash, forest vegetation or other combustible material without a permit, and Sec. 25-33(2) bars smoke that obstructs roadways. Under Sec. 25-31, the county judge declares a burn ban by executive order during dry conditions that endanger health, safety or property, announces it through local news media with its duration and geographic scope, and notifies the Arkansas Forestry Commission.

Sec. 25-32 explains how a permit is obtained during a ban: the county judge, fire service coordinator, or another officer they designate must sign off after consulting the responding fire district, and a copy of the permit goes to the fire departments serving that area. Outside of an active burn ban, this article does not separately restrict fireworks use in the unincorporated county; the fireworks-specific prohibition is triggered only by a declared ban.
