Haltom City, TX Fire Regulations: Fireworks (2026)

Haltom City prohibits the sale, possession, and discharge of consumer 1.4G fireworks anywhere inside city limits at all times of the year, including July 4 and New Year Eve. The ban is supported by Texas Occupations Code Chapter 2154 and the citys adoption of the International Fire Code Chapter 56 governing explosives and fireworks. Prohibited items include firecrackers, bottle rockets, Roman candles, aerial shells, missiles, skyrockets, reloadable mortar tubes, and similar Class 1.4G explosives. Novelty items classified as 1.4S (small sparklers, snakes, party poppers) are generally not treated as fireworks under the ban but remain subject to any active burn ban issued by the Tarrant County Fire Marshal. Professional pyrotechnic displays, including those associated with city-sponsored events, require a Fire Marshal permit, a licensed pyrotechnic operator under TX Occ Code 2154, a current certificate of liability insurance, and an on-site safety inspection. Violations are filed in Haltom City Municipal Court as Class C misdemeanors carrying fines up to 2,000 dollars per incident, and each device discharged can be cited separately. The Police Department and Fire Marshal increase patrols around holidays and accept anonymous tips on the non-emergency line.
