Pearland prohibits the sale, possession, use, or discharge of all fireworks within city limits and surrounding extraterritorial jurisdiction year-round, including July 4 and New Year's Eve.
City Ordinance Section 10-74 establishes a general prohibition on fireworks. It is unlawful for any person to sell, keep, use, discharge, ignite, detonate, fire, or otherwise set in action any fireworks of any description within the City of Pearland or its ETJ. The Pearland Fire Marshal Division and Pearland Police Department actively enforce the ordinance, especially around holidays. Confiscated fireworks are destroyed.
Violation is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $2,000 per violation, plus confiscation and destruction of the fireworks.
