The Air Pollution Control Program enforces SLCRO §612.340 (Air Pollution Nuisances Prohibited). In unincorporated areas, leaves and residential brush may be burned only Sept 16 – Apr 14 with a local fire-protection-district permit. In all 88 incorporated municipalities, leaf burning is strictly prohibited. Household trash, tires, treated lumber, and construction debris may never be burned anywhere in the county.
