Florissant, MO Fire Regulations: Outdoor Burning (2026)

100 opens Chapter 220's burning restrictions with a blanket ban: Subsection (A) makes it unlawful to burn garbage, rubbish, shavings, leaves, grass, manure, straw or refuse of any kind in any street, alley or other open place, with no permit or exception built into the text. 070, before the City's own recreational-fire allowance in the rest of the subsection applies; that recreational-fire carve-out, covering fire pits, chimineas, hours and Red Flag Warning restrictions, is addressed on Florissant's fire pit page. Louis County, since Florissant does not run its own air-permitting program. The Section was last amended by Ordinance No. 9069 on May 12, 2025. None of the three subsections carries its own fine, so enforcement runs through the City's general penalty provision.
