Greensboro, NC Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Food Truck Permits (2026)

Sec. 26-234 of the Code of Ordinances lays out what a Greensboro mobile food vendor permit application must include: the applicant's name and address plus the vending business or pushcart owner's information if different; a description of the food and beverages to be sold; a description and photograph of the pushcart, trailer or vehicle, including license and registration numbers where applicable; two recent full-face photographs (taken within 30 days) of anyone who will sell on the vendor's behalf; a copy of the Guilford County Health Department's sanitation approval under 10 NCAC ch.

10, subch. 10A; and proof of liability insurance naming the city as additional insured, with minimum coverage of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per occurrence for bodily injury and $25,000 per occurrence for property damage. 00 annually per mobile food vendor or pushcart, every item on the application has to be resubmitted each year at renewal. Sec. 00. Permits run for a fixed twelve-month cycle that always expires June 30, so a vendor who applies after the fiscal year is eight months in only owes half the fee for that partial term, and there's no proration or refund if the vendor stops operating early.

The original permit and decal must stay displayed on the cart or unit for inspection at any time, and permits cannot be transferred between owners or businesses.
