Walker County, GA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Sidewalk & Mobile Vending (2026)

Section 10-249(a) allows a vendor to sell food, merchandise or services at a special event only if the producer approves and authorizes the vendor in writing and the vendor follows the conditions the producer submits with the permit application, plus any county, state and federal law. Under § 10-249(b), the producer alone decides whether to allow sidewalk or street vending at all and where vendors may locate, and it is unlawful for a vendor to sell outside the location or manner the producer authorized. Section 10-249(c) requires every authorized vendor to display a badge at least 3 inches by 3 inches identifying them as an official participant, signed by the producer, and a list of authorized vendors must reach the Walker County Planning Office at least 3 days before the event.

Section 10-249(d) exempts authorized vendors from a separate business license or vendor permit for the event's duration, except vendors selling beer, wine or spirits, who still need those licenses. Section 10-249(e) makes it unlawful for any unauthorized vendor to sell within 25 yards of the event from one hour before it starts until one hour after it ends, and § 10-249(g) subjects any food vendor to Walker County Health Department rules, with the event producer responsible for that compliance. A vendor with its own fixed, permitted business location may keep operating there during a nearby special event under other applicable law (§ 10-249(f)).
