Grand Prairie Sec. 29-79 limits garage sales to 2 per year per location, each lasting no more than 3 consecutive days. This is a 12-month rolling period. Exceeding limits results in citations.
Under Grand Prairie Code Section 29-79, no more than 2 garage sales may be conducted at any single location within a 12-month period. Each sale may not exceed 3 consecutive days in length. The 12-month period is calculated on a rolling basis from the date of each sale. These limits apply per location, not per person β if a property has already had 2 permitted sales in the past 12 months, no additional sales may be held there regardless of who conducts them. The intent is to prevent residential properties from being used as ongoing retail operations. Commercial-scale sales require appropriate business licensing and zoning compliance.
Exceeding 2 sales per year or 3 days per sale: citation and fine per Section 1-8. Ongoing commercial activity: zoning violation.
