050(GG) sets the operating rules for garage or yard sales. A sales event can happen at one address no more than once every four months, though the Community Development Director may authorize one additional sales event within that four-month window, and a resident denied that extra event can appeal to the City Council for a final decision. Each event can run up to four consecutive days, and if weather interrupts a sale in progress, the event can be extended by one additional day for each day actually lost to the interruption, up to the four-day total.

m. Only used items that were part of reasonable household use may be sold; bringing in new merchandise or goods from another location for the sale is prohibited, though the code directs that 'reasonable household use' be interpreted broadly in the seller's favor. No sign advertising the sale may be placed on any public right-of-way, including on street signs, street trees or utility poles, and no item or sign may obstruct a street, sidewalk, parkway or driveway.
