The intent of these restrictions is to ensure that neighbors cannot distinguish the home occupation from normal residential activity based on traffic patterns alone. If a home occupation generates complaints about excessive traffic or parking, the Department of Safety and Inspections may investigate and require corrective action, potentially revoking the home occupation status if violations persist. Businesses that anticipate regular customer visits should consider leasing commercial space in a B1 or B2 zoning district instead.
