Section 10-412(2)g of the Land Development Code caps the vehicle traffic a home-based business can pull to a residential lot. No home occupation is allowed if it involves clients, customers, salespeople, suppliers, or anyone else coming for business purposes generating more than two vehicle round trips per hour or more than ten vehicle round trips per day, with a round trip defined as one vehicle arriving at and then leaving the premises. Music, dance, and nonband instrument instruction is carved out of the general cap but gets its own limit of no more than seven vehicle round trips per hour, and that limit does not prohibit occasional group lessons.

The traffic cap sits inside the broader home-occupation standard: subsection (h) requires all parking tied to the business to be off the street, either on a paved driveway or in officially painted on-street spaces, and subsection (j) limits the business to one motor vehicle used in its operation kept on the premises at any one time. The land use administrator makes the compliance call during project determination under Chapter 9, Article III of the code. The traffic and parking limits do not apply to home-based sales of fruit and vegetables conducted by an owner-occupant over 70 years old who has run that use at least annually since October 1, 1992.
