The town's zoning ordinance folds its home-business sign rule directly into the definition of HOME OCCUPATION at § 153.002, rather than treating it in the separate sign chapter (§ 153.077, which governs commercially zoned signage generally). The definition requires that "no visible evidence (for example, signs of any size, material or equipment) in the outside appearance of the premises of the conduct of such occupation is displayed." That single clause forecloses every category of on-site advertising for a home business: a wall-mounted nameplate, a freestanding yard sign, a window decal or banner, and even conspicuous equipment left visible from the street can all count as "visible evidence" that defeats the definition.

The rule is written as an all-or-nothing qualifying test rather than a size or placement limit; the code does not authorize a small identification sign the way many commercial and special-use categories elsewhere in Chapter 153 do (compare the bed-and-breakfast standards at § 153.312(A)(10), which likewise state flatly that "no signs shall be allowed upon the premises"). Because the home occupation definition is one of the qualifying conditions for the use, a home-based business that posts a sign is deemed to fall outside the HOME OCCUPATION classification altogether and becomes an unpermitted commercial use, which the Zoning Administrator and Code Compliance Officer can require to be removed or relocated to a zone where commercial signage is permitted under § 153.077.
