The Unified Zoning Code's home occupation standards (Sec. IV-E.3.i) cap any home-business sign at two square feet, prohibit illumination, and require the sign be mounted flat against the main face of the dwelling or building, no freestanding or projecting signs. In the SF-10 and SF-5 single-family districts, the rule is tighter: no sign is allowed at all unless a sign is required by law, and even then it can't exceed two square feet (Sec. IV-E.4.d). Rural home occupations in the RR and SF-20 districts get more latitude, one freestanding, unlit sign up to twelve square feet outside the right-of-way.
