040: camping on property the city specifically marks for public camping, at a permitted special event, in RVs tied to a sponsored sporting or community event (capped at three consecutive nights), in a residence's rear or side yard with the owner's consent and a fence or hedge separating it from the street, inside a registered vehicle in a residential driveway (capped at ten days per calendar month), inside a registered vehicle parked on a public residential street as a guest within 100 feet of a host home (also capped at ten days per month), and city-sponsored overnight programs.

040 exception is not permitted when it creates noise, inadequate sanitation, or a danger to the health, safety and general welfare of the surrounding property. 050 separately bars storing or leaving unattended camp facilities or camp paraphernalia, defined to include tents, sleeping bags and cooking equipment, on public property unless the storage is authorized under a permitted camping activity. 060 declares any campsite set up in violation of the chapter a public nuisance and gives the chief of police authority to abate it and remove camp facilities and paraphernalia. 070 preserves stricter HOA covenants and restrictions over the chapter's baseline.
