Lewisville receives its treated water supply from the Upper Trinity Regional Water District, which draws from Lewisville Lake and other regional sources. The city maintains a permanent water conservation ordinance requiring landscape irrigation no more than twice per week on assigned days based on address (even addresses on specific days, odd on others). Irrigation is prohibited between 10 AM and 6 PM year-round to reduce evaporative loss. During drought conditions, the city activates escalating restriction stages.
