Cobb County Code §78-56 (Chapter 78, Nuisances) declares grass, weeds, or other vegetation exceeding 12 inches on an improved lot a public nuisance. Code Enforcement (770-528-2180) inspects complaints and posts a 10-day notice to abate. Unimproved wooded tracts are generally exempt. O.C.G.A. §41-2-5 authorizes the county to abate and assess costs as a lien. Kudzu, privet, and Chinese wisteria are rampant across metro Atlanta; property owners are responsible for controlling invasives that encroach on neighbors.
