512(b), part of the "Storing, Maintaining, or Placing Personal Property in the Public Right-of-Way" section adopted by Ordinance 23-08 effective October 5, 2023, separately bars obstructing any portion of a bike lane, bike path, trail, or other public right-of-way open to use by bicycles by storing, maintaining, or placing personal property anywhere within it, using the same prohibition that applies to streets open to motor vehicles. This subsection sits alongside subsection (a), which restricts storing property near driveways, building entrances, and fire hydrants, and subsection (c), which lets the Chief of Police designate additional no-storage buffer zones by posted signage near parks, libraries, transportation infrastructure, and homeless-services facilities.

Because subsection (b) has no distance qualifier of its own, unlike the numeric buffers in subsection (a), any placement of personal property within the physical bounds of a marked bike lane, bike path, or trail is a violation regardless of how much room remains for cyclists to pass. 512: willful resistance to a City employee enforcing the section is chargeable under the administrative citation procedures of Chapter 7 of Title 1, and the underlying obstruction is independently enforceable as an infraction under Chapter 2 of Title 1.
