Dade City, FL Mobility & Curb Rules: Bike Lane Rules (2026)

Section 94-33 of the Dade City Code of Ordinances sets out two separate bicycle-facility violations inside a longer list of stopping, standing and parking prohibitions. Under subsection (a)(1)h, no person may stop, stand or park a vehicle on a bicycle path at all, except when necessary to avoid conflicting traffic or when directed by a police officer or an official traffic control device. Under subsection (a)(2)f, a vehicle may not stand or park in an exclusive bicycle lane, though the same subsection allows a driver to stop there momentarily to pick up or discharge passengers before moving on.

A law enforcement officer or a parking enforcement specialist who finds a vehicle violating either rule may issue a ticket to the driver or, if the vehicle is unattended, attach the ticket to it in a conspicuous place; the state's uniform traffic citation cannot be used for a municipal ordinance violation like this one. 00 for both the bicycle-path violation, grouped under 94-33(a)(1)a through i, and the bicycle-lane violation, grouped under 94-33(a)(2)a through g. All parking fines under this chart must be paid in full within 72 hours at the city police department.

Under section 94-36, collected parking fines are disbursed according to state statutes, local ordinances and the city charter, and the city commission may direct a percentage into a designated police department reserve by resolution.
