Framingham's Traffic Rules and Orders single out five specific segments as designated bike lanes under City Code § 550-11.1: Edgell Road northbound from Warren Place to 200 feet north of Central Street, Edgell Road southbound from 300 feet north of Central Street back to Warren Place, Central Street eastbound from Edgell Road to about 100 feet east of it, Central Street westbound from about 300 feet east of Edgell Road back to Edgell Road, and the south side of Danforth Street from Concord Street to Cottage Street.

Those five segments are the only streets in the City that carry an ordinance-level bike lane designation; any other painted bike lane in Framingham exists as a Traffic Commission or DPW marking rather than a codified lane under this section. Because § 550-11.1 sits inside Chapter 550, Traffic Rules and Orders, a violation of the rules governing use of these designated lanes, such as driving, parking or standing a motor vehicle within them in a manner inconsistent with the ordinance, falls under the chapter's general penalty clause.
