Framingham, MA Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

City Code § 550-15, the general prohibitions section of Framingham's parking rules, lists specific places and manners of parking that are always off-limits on a City street. Clause I bars parking 'in front of any private road or driveway,' with no minimum distance stated, so any part of a vehicle in front of a driveway opening can violate the section. Clause F requires that on a one-way street where parking is permitted, both wheels on the curb side of the vehicle must be within 12 inches of the curb or edge of the roadway and the vehicle must be parked facing in the direction of traffic movement, making parking against the flow of a one-way street its own violation separate from ordinary curb-distance parking.

The two violations carry different fines under the Chapter 550 schedule in § 550-70B: obstructing a driveway is fined $10, while parking in the wrong direction is fined $5, the same bracket the schedule uses for parking more than a foot from the curb or double parking. Both fines are set under the authority of Massachusetts General Laws c. 90, § 20C, which lets a city establish its own parking-fine schedule. The Framingham Police Department enforces § 550-15 and issues the citations, and under § 550-69 the registered owner of a vehicle found in violation is prima facie responsible for the ticket even when the driver cannot be identified.
