Municipal Code Sec. 030(h) makes it unlawful to park or leave a vehicle standing in a designated on-road bicycle lane anywhere on the city's arterial highway system once signs identifying the lane and prohibiting parking are posted. 15 (Bicycles) governs how cyclists themselves must ride. Sec. 090(a) requires riders in a bicycle lane or on a bicycle path to travel single file, except as permitted by Vehicle Code Sec. 21202(a) (which allows two abreast in some circumstances). Sec. 090(b) lets riders travel either direction on a bike trail or path unless one-way markings or signs say otherwise, and Sec.

090(c) allows walking a bicycle under the same rules that apply to pedestrians. Sec. 100 separately regulates sidewalks: bicycles may be ridden on city sidewalks at up to 5 mph, except in business districts, next to schools in session, active recreation centers, churches during services, over pedestrian overcrossings, or wherever signs prohibit it; on sidewalks designated multi-use trail shared sidewalks (MUTSS), the limit rises to 12 mph. Riders on sidewalks must yield right-of-way to pedestrians and must yield to traffic when entering a roadway or driveway from a sidewalk.
