Mosinee, WI Mobility & Curb Rules: Bike Lane Rules (2026)

Section 78-352 sets the City of Mosinee's core rules for how a bicycle must be ridden: no coasting through a street by momentum with feet off the pedals, no removing both hands from the handlebars or doing trick or fancy riding, and no carrying a second person unless the bicycle has a seat built for one. Section 78-356 adds that cyclists may not ride more than two abreast on any public street, avenue, lane, alley or other public way in the city, with an exception for a general parade or public demonstration.

Riders must also equip their bicycles with a warning bell or horn under section 78-354, and with lighting equipment meeting Wis. 489 before riding after dark under section 78-353, and may not leave a bicycle parked in a way that creates a hazard to pedestrians or drivers under section 78-355. The Code separately requires every bicycle operated on a city street, alley, sidewalk, bicycle lane, bicycle route or bicycle way to carry a registration plate issued by the police department under section 78-381, with limited exceptions for casual travelers, tourists and nonresidents already registered in their home jurisdiction. The Code applies Wis. ch. 346's rules of the road to bicycles wherever appropriate under section 78-357.
