Chapter 72 of the Pompano Beach Code of Ordinances is the city's bicycle chapter, and it works by cross-reference rather than by writing its own rules of the road. 02(A) makes every person propelling or riding a bicycle on a public roadway subject to all the same ordinances and state traffic laws that apply to the operator of any other vehicle, except equipment provisions that would not logically apply to a bike. 2065, Florida's statewide Bicycles statute (which covers riding within a marked bike lane, riding as near the right curb as practicable, single-file riding, hand-signal turns, and lighting at night), wholesale as city law.

2128. 01 gives the Police Chief, the City Manager, or the Public Works Director authority to post signs on any sidewalk or street prohibiting bicycle riding there; once a sign is up, disobeying it is itself a violation, independent of anything in the state statute. That local sign-posting power is the closest thing in the city code to a bike lane obstruction rule, since it lets the city close specific streets or sidewalk segments to cyclists outright rather than regulate lane use provision by provision.
