Satellite Beach, FL Mobility & Curb Rules: Bike Lane Rules (2026)

The Satellite Beach City Code protects bicycle facilities in two overlapping places within the stopping, standing and parking article. Sec. 34-32(a)(1)b flatly bars any person from stopping, standing or parking a vehicle on a sidewalk, bike path or bike lane, a prohibition that applies at all times, not just during travel hours, and covers any vehicle regardless of how briefly it sits there. Sec. 34-32(a)(2)h adds a second, narrower rule for standing or parking, the category that otherwise allows a momentary stop to pick up or drop off a passenger: even that momentary exception does not apply on an exclusive bicycle lane, so a vehicle cannot stand there at all.

Together the two subsections mean a driver cannot block a bike lane to load passengers or cargo the way loading in a general travel lane might briefly be tolerated elsewhere in the section. Enforcement runs through Sec. 34-32(c): a police officer or parking enforcement specialist who finds a vehicle violating the section can issue a ticket to the driver directly or attach it to an unattended vehicle. The city's Public Works Department and police department jointly administer the underlying traffic-control devices and signage that mark bike paths and lanes under the general definitions in this article.
