A motorized scooter is defined as a stand-up scooter with a small combustion engine or an electric motor under 750 watts. 3(c) is the opposite of the e-bike rule: riders 13 and older may operate a motorized scooter only on sidewalks, not in the street. 3(a) still requires the same safety equipment as bicycles when riding at night or in poor visibility: a white front lamp and red rear reflector each visible for 500 feet, and a horn or bell audible at 100 feet; whistles and sirens are not allowed.

4 prohibit leaving a scooter where it blocks pedestrian or vehicle traffic, a handicap ramp, sidewalk, driveway, or building entrance, or locking it to a fire hydrant, hand railing, bench, tree, trash receptacle, parking meter, light pole, or street sign, and bar leaving one on private property without the owner's or tenant's consent. Any scooter left on a street, sidewalk, or public property more than 72 consecutive hours is deemed abandoned, gets an impoundment notice, and can be removed by village police or public works.
