Canyon County, ID Noise from Specific Sources: Generator Noise (2026)

Chapter 4, Article 1 of the Canyon County Code governs county-owned parks, waterways and recreation areas in unincorporated Canyon County, Idaho. the following day. Section 04-01-15(6), part of the camping and campsites rules, states that during quiet hours no generators or other motorized equipment emitting loud sound and exhaust may be in operation, though vehicles entering or exiting the campground are still allowed. A related prohibited-acts provision, section 04-01-11(3), separately bars park users from making noise that disturbs others during quiet hours and bans amplified sound or poorly muffled vehicles at any time in the park except in designated areas or with the park manager's authorization.

The director of the Canyon County department of parks, cultural and natural resources may deputize park managers and staff as deputy sheriffs under section 04-01-05(2) to enforce this and other county ordinances within park boundaries. This article does not create a general noise ordinance for private property or residential generators outside county park and waterway boundaries, and it has no application inside Caldwell, Nampa, Middleton, Greenleaf, Melba, Notus, Wilder, Parma or Star, each of which enforces its own municipal noise rules.
