Fayette County's Noise Control Ordinance (Ch. 16, Art. II) sets both quantitative decibel limits and specific nighttime prohibitions for unincorporated Fayette County. Section 16-39(2) lists nighttime sounds in residential districts, and subsection b bars 'operating or permitting someone to operate any internal combustion powered equipment' during the hours defined as night in Sec. on weekends. The rule covers portable and standby generators along with other combustion-powered gear once the residential district crosses into nighttime hours; it sits alongside separate nighttime bans on power tools (16-39(2)a), construction (16-39(2)c), and idling heavy trucks (16-39(2)d).
