05 sits inside Part 502, the AP1 Airport Overlay District, which protects operations around the Winchester Regional Airport under the county's zoning ordinance (Chapter 165). The Executive Director of the Winchester Regional Airport Authority is responsible for producing a noise abatement plan and an LDN map showing every parcel that falls within a 65 day-night average sound level contour or higher. Once that map exists, the Department of Planning and Development keeps it on file and must review every application for development that lands inside an LDN zone specifically to gauge the noise impact on the proposed use.
