Full Breakdown

Nampa's general noise ordinance prohibits loud or offensive noise citywide between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. under section 6-7-3. Construction noise falls under that same nighttime ban, section 6-7-5.I exempts it only if the contractor first obtains a special permit approved by the city's building department or the city engineer. A companion zoning provision, section 10-1-9.A, repeats the identical nighttime exemption for construction noise on commercial or industrial property abutting residential zoning. Outside the 11 p.m.-7 a.m. window, or once a special permit is issued, construction noise is not separately capped by decibel level under this chapter.
