Industrial-zoned property (BMP, I, AIR zones) may not exceed 70 dBA at the property line at any time, per RMC §7.25.010 Table 7.25.010A. Cumulative-period 'plus 5/10/15/20 dB' overage tiers apply.
Under RMC §7.25.010 (Nuisance Exterior Sound Level Limits), the Industrial land use category — encompassing the BMP (Business Manufacturing Park), I (Industrial), and AIR zones per Table 7.25.010B — carries a 70 dBA exterior noise standard with no day/night differentiation. Subsection A establishes a graduated cumulative-period framework: the standard may be exceeded by 5 dBA for up to 30 min/hr, +5 dBA for 15 min/hr, +10 dBA for 5 min/hr, +15 dBA for 1 min/hr, but never by +20 dBA. 'Fixed noise sources' (§7.10.070) — including pumps, fans, compressors, and refrigeration — measured at the complainant's nearest property line per §7.20.010 (A-weighted, slow response). Pre-1980 AC/refrigeration units grandfather to 60 dBA; post-1980 units to 55 dBA at the property line (§7.25.010(D)).
Enforced by Code Enforcement Division or RPD per §7.15.005(A). Violations may be charged as a misdemeanor or infraction (§7.15.005(C)); each day constitutes a separate offense. Initial response is typically a warning notice; continued violation leads to citation and referral to the City Attorney.
