Summary
Maple Grove bans power lawn and garden equipment near homes outside set hours, with an exception letting snow blowers run earlier.
Within 500 feet of any residentially zoned property (other than R-A), no person may operate any power implement, including, but not limited to, an electric- or gas-powered implement such as a lawn mower, hedge clipper, chain saw, trimmer, bug zapper, or other device designed primarily for outdoor use, at any time other than between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on public holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays, except that snow blowers shall not be operated at any time other than between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. any day of the week. All implements shall be effectively muffled so as to prevent the emission of loud and explosive noises that disturb the peace, quiet, or repose of a person of ordinary sensibility. The above restriction does not include the operation of any power implement utilized for snow removal within 12 hours of the end of a snow event.

Full Breakdown
Within 500 feet of residentially zoned property (other than R-A), power implements like leaf blowers, lawn mowers, hedge clippers, chain saws, and trimmers may run only 6:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Snow blowers get a wider 6:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. window every day, and equipment used for snow removal is exempt within 12 hours of a snow event. All implements must be effectively muffled.
Violations & Fines
Violating the hours or muffling requirement is a misdemeanor under the city's general penalty (Sec. 1-13), with prosecutorial discretion to charge as a petty misdemeanor; each day of violation is a separate offense.
