Quiet hours in Danbury, CT — also called the noise ordinance, nighttime noise rules, or residential quiet time — define the hours during which excessive noise is prohibited.
Danbury Code §12-14 sets nighttime hours as 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (to 10:00 a.m. Sundays/holidays). In a Class A (residential) zone, emitted noise may not exceed 55 dBA daytime or 45 dBA at night, measured ~1 foot inside the receiving property.
Section 12-14 conforms to Connecticut State Regulations §22a-69-3.5. Daytime is 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Mon–Sat (10 a.m.–8 p.m. Sundays/holidays); all other hours are nighttime. Class A residential emitters are capped at 55 dBA day / 45 dBA night; impulse noise may not exceed 80 dB at night to a residential zone or 100 dB at any time. Lawn and garden equipment is exempt between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. The Danbury Police Department enforces measurement and violations.
First violation $25; a subsequent violation within 30 days $50; any further violation within 30 days $75. Each day a violation continues is a separate offense.
