The Portage County Code sets camping quiet hours in Sec. 6.1.11(2)(n): campers must stay quiet from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and failing to do so can cost a camper their permit or bring other sanctions the park police determine on the spot. The rule sits inside the county's broader camping code, which also requires juveniles under 18 to have adult supervision at the campsite between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (Sec. 6.1.11(2)(o)). Outside the campgrounds, county parks close to all persons and vehicles from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. under Sec.

6.1.1(4)(a), enforced by the Parks Director or, if unavailable, the Sheriff or senior on-duty deputy; violating that closing-hours rule carries a $20.00 forfeiture plus costs and surcharges totaling $162.70 under the county's citation schedule. A separate, park-wide noise rule at Sec. 6.1.3(2) bars boisterous or unreasonably loud activity, including audio equipment, that disturbs the quiet enjoyment of the parks or of neighboring tenants; that violation carries a $40.00 forfeiture, $187.90 with costs and surcharges. There is no townwide overnight noise curfew for unincorporated Portage County outside the park system; the county's general noise rule (Sec. 2.12.3) instead bans noisy activity that annoys a neighboring occupant at any hour, without a fixed clock cutoff.
