11 regulates fires and barbecues on all City of Renton park property, including trails, open space, the Maplewood Golf Course, and recreation buildings. Building a fire is prohibited except in areas the Parks and Recreation Administrator has specifically designed and set aside for that purpose, such as designated fire pits or grills at group picnic shelters. For portable barbecues, the section sets two dimensional limits: a portable grill cannot exceed thirty-six inches (36") in length, and it cannot be shorter than thirty inches (30") in height, when placed over a combustible surface, unless that surface is first protected by a heat shield or other fireproof device placed underneath the barbecue.

The section separately prohibits placing hot coals onto park grounds, into trash containers, or into any water body, covering disposal after cooking as well as placement during use. 2.
