Vehicles parked on Lodi streets for more than 72 hours without moving are subject to towing under California Vehicle Code Β§22651(k). Inoperable vehicles (missing wheels, engine, or unregistered) may be towed immediately under CVC Β§22669(d). A $160 city release fee applies.
Lodi Police Department's Traffic Services enforces abandoned-vehicle removal under state law and LMC Title 10 (Vehicles and Traffic). California Vehicle Code Β§22651(k) permits removal of any vehicle parked on a city street in excess of 72 hours, and CVC Β§22669(d) permits immediate removal of vehicles that are missing an engine, doors, windshield, wheels, or other safety equipment, or that are unregistered. To recover a towed vehicle, the registered owner must pay a $160 city tow-release fee to Lodi, plus storage and towing fees to the storage company. Vehicles parked on unimproved surfaces or front lawns are separately cited as property-maintenance violations under LMC Title 8.
Inoperable or abandoned vehicles are towed at the owner's expense. Property-maintenance citations for yard parking begin at $100, escalating to $500 for repeat violations within a year.
