Bryan, TX Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Under Sec. 118-88(a), it is unlawful to park or leave standing any truck or vehicle rated over 12,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, or any motor home, trailer, truck-tractor, or recreational vehicle on a public street or right-of-way anywhere in Bryan. The code carves out narrow affirmative defenses: an out-of-town guest's RV parked adjacent to the host's property for up to five days, utility or street-repair equipment actively working, buses at designated stops, and any covered vehicle actively loading or unloading. Section 118-88(b) separately restricts parking these same vehicle types in a front yard or vacant lot visible from public view unless the surface is hard-paved or curbed gravel.
