In unincorporated Jefferson County it is unlawful to park a "Major Motor Vehicle" (8+ feet wide, 25+ feet long, or any truck tractor/road tractor/semi-trailer) on a county road except for loading, unloading, or other immediate active use.
Section J.1 of the parking ordinance prohibits parking Major Motor Vehicles on any Highway in unincorporated Jefferson County except for loading, unloading, or immediate active use. A Major Motor Vehicle is any vehicle 8+ feet wide (including truck bed), 25+ feet long, or, regardless of size, a truck tractor, road tractor, or semi-trailer (authorized emergency vehicles excluded). Selling a vehicle from the roadway is also unlawful. A citation for a J.1 violation requires two witnesses from separate households. Incorporated cities regulate commercial-vehicle parking under their own codes.
Class 2 petty offense: $25 fine, rising to $35 then $50 for non-response. The vehicle may be tagged and, after 72 hours, impounded as a public nuisance.
