Fort Myers, FL Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Fort Myers Code of Ordinances § 86-61 makes it unlawful to park any commercial vehicle of 1½ tons or larger in a residential district for more than two hours, except when actually loading or unloading. Two companion sections tighten the squeeze on oversized vehicles: § 86-69 requires that at single-family homes, all vehicle parking or storage happen only on the driveway or a permitted improved surface, not the lawn or unpaved yard; and § 86-68 caps motor trailers (campers, RVs) on any public street at one hour and bans cooking meals in one while parked. Together the three sections push commercial trucks, RVs and trailers off residential streets and unpaved lots.
