Harlingen, TX Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Under Section 111-142, commercial trucks, truck trailers, truck cabs, boats and boat trailers can't sit on any street, alley or public right-of-way for more than 24 hours in a 14-day period; motor homes and travel trailers get 48 hours. Just moving the vehicle to another spot on the same public way doesn't reset the clock. In the N, R-1, R-2, M-1, M-2 and MH districts, semi tractor-trailers are barred from the right-of-way or any lot entirely, and those same residential and manufactured-home districts also prohibit storing any truck or van over 1.5-ton capacity in a parking space, garage or carport. Section 46-162 gives Harlingen police authority to tow violating vehicles at the owner's expense.
