Louisville, KY Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Metro's traffic code makes it a parking violation to leave any trailer coach or motor home standing on a public street, alley, or place anywhere in Jefferson County, including residential blocks: the only exception is active loading or unloading. Owners who want to keep an RV parked long-term must place it in a licensed recreational vehicle community under Chapter 115, or off the public right-of-way on their own property. Violations are civil parking tickets of $20 to $100 per day under § 72.999, with the fine resetting daily until the vehicle moves. This rule covers Louisville Metro's own streets; independent home rule cities inside the county, such as Anchorage and St. Matthews, enforce separate parking codes of their own.
