Meridian, ID Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Meridian City Code § 7-2-5 bars parking any vehicle, motorized or not, with a gross vehicle weight rating over 12,000 pounds on a public street for any length of time, a far stricter rule than the 72-hour limit that applies to lighter vehicles, motor homes, and utility trailers. The ban applies citywide on every public street, not just residential blocks. Exceptions exist only for a vehicle working an active, permitted construction project within 100 feet of the site, and for semitrailers actively loading or unloading within 100 feet, for up to 72 hours. Meridian Police, Code Enforcement, and Community Service Officers enforce the section.
