Commercial vehicles on residential property follow the same RMC 6-2-4 rules: enclosed storage, behind a 5 ft fence, or screened driveway. No front-yard repair at any time.
Reedley Municipal Code Section 6-2-4 applies to all vehicles stored on residential property, including commercial vehicles. Any vehicle in a residential zone district may be parked or stored in a properly permitted and entirely enclosed space or carport, in a rear or side yard enclosed by not less than a 5-foot solid fence or wall, or on a front-yard improved driveway with the required setbacks (3 feet from garage doors, 5 feet from side property lines) and screening. No vehicle may remain on front yards, side yards, back yards, or parking strips for more than 72 continuous hours. The construction, reconstruction, disassembly, repair, or servicing of any motor vehicle is prohibited in any front yard in a residential district at all times, and prohibited in other areas between 10 PM and 7 AM if it creates a nuisance. Grease, oil, paint, and related materials cannot be stored on yards for more than 72 hours. Large commercial vehicles exceeding the practical limits of residential driveways and screening requirements may face additional challenges complying with these standards.
