Unincorporated Fresno County follows CVC rules. Vehicles cannot remain parked on a public street for more than 72 consecutive hours (CVC §22651(k)). Rural roads may have no on-street parking where striped or signed.
The county does not operate residential permit parking programs in unincorporated areas. California Vehicle Code §22651(k) allows removal of vehicles parked >72 hours. CVC §22500 sets statewide no-park zones (crosswalks, fire hydrants within 15 ft, intersections within 20 ft, etc.). On rural county roads with no shoulder, parking may be prohibited under Public Works Department signage. Report abandoned vehicles to Sheriff's Office abandoned-vehicle abatement program.
72-hour violation: tow plus citation ($50-$100+). CVC §22500 zone parking: $60-$100 base fine plus county/state assessments.
